The Roser Festival, held on the first weekend of October, is dedicated to Martorell’s winemaking heritage.
During the Most Festival (revived in 1988), the cart of the grape carriers, farmers, wine and cava, among others, parades through the streets. In the Plaza de la Vila, the proclamation is made, festive groups perform dances, and the public grape treading takes place. Amid music and festivities, attendees can taste freshly pressed grape juice. These events are organized by the Friends of Sant Antoni Abat.
Since 2011, within the Roser Festival, VIMART has been incorporated, a wine and cava fair held around the Plaza de l’Església and Església Street. This fair brings together stands from local wine producers offering wines and cavas, as well as various restaurateurs complementing the offer with a selection of prepared dishes, aiming for the perfect pairing. In 2012, the fair was expanded with fashion and styling activities under the name “Wine, Fashion and Styling.”
In addition to the fair and grape pressing, the Roser Festival offers concerts, performances by traditional culture groups, guided theatrical visits to the museums, and other activities suitable for all audiences.
